d’Albora Marinas are pleased to advise that after close consultation with the NSW Rural Fire Service, NSW Maritime Police & Ka-Boom pyro-technicians that the 2019 NYE 9pm fireworks will be going ahead as planned. Subject to adverse weather conditions.
The display will be monitored by Volunteer Marine Rescue & Ka-Boom Fireworks pyro-technicians and d’Albora Marina Team members. As the display is over water all parties are satisfied that there is minimal chance of any incident, should conditions change an update will be provided through the relevant channels.
d’Albora Marinas would like to advise that a fireworks display is planned for 9pm on the 31st of December 2019, New Years’ Eve (subject to favourable weather conditions). This will be located approximately 250 metres from the Nelson Bay break wall out towards the middle of the bay off a barge. The display will last approximately 10 minutes. Ka-Boom Fireworks propose to aim the aerial shells on an angle out towards the channel at approximately 10 degrees to help minimise fall out. The larger aerials may be removed from the display if necessary depending on weather conditions on the night.
Ka-Boom Fireworks have obtained an Aquatic License from Roads & Maritime Services to enforce an exclusion zone. Under no circumstances is any vessel allowed to enter this zone during the fireworks display, as the area is deemed a safety risk and will be patrolled by approved vessels. Should any vessel/s breach the exclusion zone, Ka-Boom will have no choice but to cease the display and the offending vessel/s will be charged accordingly.
A Marine Notice will be placed in the local Port Stephens Examiner & Newcastle Herald in the lead up to the event. Please inform all relevant personnel and/or customers of the relevant navigation restrictions.
Should you have any questions or concerns regarding the above please contact d’Albora Marinas Nelson Bay 02 4984 1333.
